When a fire ignites and spread in a ro-ro space, time is key. You must have the right procedures in place, know the responsibilities of yourself and others and have the right equipment at hand. You must also be able to trust that the alarm system communicates and is synchronized perfectly with the other systems onboard. Crew members are rarely firefighters but still this is a reality that they might be faced with. The procedures for how to handle such a situation are not optimal today and the regulations must be updated. This work is the focus of WP06 in the LASH FIRE project.
