For the fire tests on first response measures in the event of a fire in a battery-powered vehicle (BEV), we simulated the conditions of restricted accessibility on an roro cargo deck by placing the vehicle in the middle of closely parked vehicles.
In this test, we investigated the spread of the fire to the adjacent vehicles and tested various extinguishing devices to prevent further spread (e.g. four types of hand-held fire extinguishers, water curtains and a fire blanket).
