The LASH FIRE webinar focused on weather deck fire safety on board RoPax ships took place on 19 January from 14-15 CET. The webinar was organised and moderated by Interferry and attended by 60 participants.
Currently there are no requirements for detection or extinguishing capability on RoPax weather decks, but it is expected that such rules will be imposed for both new and existing RoPax ships as from 2026/2028. For existing ships, considerations will be given to current pump capacity and piping, and operators are advised to plan well in advance for the retrofit.
