On March 29, the first of three fire trials took place at Centro Jovellanos. In a freeburn test, the partners observed the development of a BEV fire without any external intervention in terms of firefighting.
In this trial, the partners investigated the development of a thermal runaway (when the car battery heats up itself and releases toxic gases), the development of possible jet flames and the spread of the fire to adjacent vehicles.
The measurements were successful; the evaluation of the data will provide more precise information.
Preparations for the upcoming trials adressing first and late response ongoing at this very moment!
